1. About how long does Hair straightening take?

Straightening begins with application of the treatment and then heat to make your hair beautifully straight. This is followed by cutting and blow-drying, so the whole process may take around three hours depending a little on differences in hair type and thickness.

2. How long does Hair straightening last?

Basically, straightened hair retains its straightness forever. However, as hair grows from the follicles in the scalp, the newly grown part of the hair will have its usual unruliness. The unruliness in your hair might start to bother you again after about six months, and it is less troublesome for your hair if you straighten only the newly grown unruly part.

3. What hair is not suited to Hair straightening?

Straightening isn’t suitable for bleached hair, badly damaged hair, or hair that has been repeatedly straightened in a short time (about 2 months). Straightening without regard for its condition can make hair coarse and rough, it can cause split ends or breakage, or make it frizzy and even worse than unruly, and in the end it might not straighten. If you are concerned, please ask our friendly staff.

4. How much damage is there with Hair straightening?

It depends on hair type, but some damage is more or less unavoidable. So, what can you do about? Well, that is a matter of properly caring for your hair at home. Specifically:

① Use a powerful moisturising shampoo and conditioner. (Ask us about products.)
Using leave-in conditioner (applied before blow drying) after shampoo and conditioner is even more effective.

② Thoroughly blow dry your hair, don’t let it dry naturally.
After washing your hair, don’t leave it damp for a long while before drying it: dry it straight away. While your hair is damp, the cuticles stay open, leaving it weak and making it prone to damage. If possible, it is better not to have your drier too hot.
